The PingOne for Customers Passwordless solution lets you offer your end users a variety of flexible passwordless options for account creation, sign-on, profile management, and account recovery using a simple getting started experience and pre-built DaVinci flows.
In the Getting Started experience in PingOne, select the sign-on options, profile management, and account recovery methods that you want to enable for your users. A sample application then lets you test your selections to see how they'll work for the end user.
After you've selected the options that you want to use, open DaVinci, where the flows that make up the PingOne for Customers Passwordless solution have been provisioned. Provide configuration information in DaVinci to adjust the PingOne for Customers Passwordless solution to your needs, then clone the flows for use in your production environment.
The PingOne for Customers Passwordless solution offers many of the available DaVinci capabilities. However, the solution limits the pre-built components to common use cases and selected best practices.
Because risk management varies by organization, the PingOne for Customers Passwordless solution includes a customizable implementation of PingOne Protect which protects against bots and high-risk users, and which can be customized for more fine-grained management of low and medium risk users. Common authentication methods, such as email magic link, email and SMS OTP, and FIDO2, are included in the flows by default. Less common methods, such as voice, mobile applications, and time-based one-time passcode (TOTP), are not included in the pre-built flows by default but can be added using the PingOne MFA service included in the solution license. To use any of these options in the PingOne for Customers Passwordless solution, you must modify the flows and your PingOne environment to include them.
The PingOne for Customers Passwordless solution offers pre-built flow templates and configurations. Review these components with your Ping Identity account representative to understand the limitations and risks associated with this solution. Your account representative can also help you customize the pre-built flow templates to satisfy any compliance or regulatory requirements that relate to your business.
