# ECP Windows Agent

You must [install](../passwordless-servers/install-servers.html) and [configure](../passwordless-servers/configure-mgmt-console.html) Enterprise Connect Passwordless Servers before you can configure and deploy the Enterprise Connect Passwordless Windows Agent.

Ping Identity and Secret Double Octopus (SDO) replace passwords altogether with a high assurance, password-free authentication paradigm.

You use Enterprise Connect Passwordless Windows Agent (ECP Windows Agent) Windows Credential Provider with standard Active Directory (AD) interfaces, replacing AD passwords seamlessly with a stronger, more secure alternative. This approach strengthens the AD domain's security, improves user experience and productivity, and significantly reduces password management costs.
