# Configuring the Apache agent

Configure the Apache agent by modifying the `mod_pf.conf` file that you copied in [Deploying the Apache agent](pf_apache_linux_ik_deploying_the_agent.html).

## Steps

1. Edit the `<apache_home>/conf/mod_pf.conf` file by modifying the example configuration and any optional properties based on your environment and needs.

   Comments above each property describe the function and possible values for that property.

2. Save the file and restart Apache to load the new configuration.
