# Enabling or disabling correlation ID support

Enable or disable correlation ID support for the HTTPS Connection Handler.

When enabled (default), PingAuthorize uses the correlation ID provided in the client's request header, if present. Otherwise, the server generates a new UUID. The server includes the correlation ID in the `Correlation-ID` response header and in all log entries for the request, including trace log entries, policy decision log entries, and HTTP operation log entries.

When disabled, the `correlationID` field is absent from all log entries, and no correlation ID appears in the response.

## Steps

* To disable correlation ID support for the HTTPS Connection Handler, run the following command:

  ```
  dsconfig set-connection-handler-prop --handler-name "HTTPS Connection Handler" --set use-correlation-id-header:false
  ```

* To enable correlation ID support for the HTTPS Connection Handler, run the following command:

  ```
  dsconfig set-connection-handler-prop --handler-name "HTTPS Connection Handler" --set use-correlation-id-header:true
  ```
