PingDirectory

Configuring a client connection policy using the console

Configure a client connection policy using the PingDirectory admin console.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, click Configuration.

  2. In the Core section, click Client Connection Policies.

  3. To add a new policy, click New Client Connection Policy.

  4. Enter a Policy ID.

  5. To enable the policy, select Enabled.

  6. In the Evaluation Order Index field, specify the order in which you want the new policy to be evaluated.

A policy with a lower index is evaluated before a policy with a higher index. The PingDirectory server uses the first evaluated policy that applies to a client connection.

  7. Use the Connection Criteria list to specify the client connection criteria that trigger this policy:

    1. To add new criteria, select New Connection Criteria.

    2. To edit existing criteria, click More Options (…) and select Edit in the list.

    3. To remove existing criteria, click More Options (…) and select Remove in the list.

  8. For Data Accessibility, specify the base DNs to include and exclude using the appropriate fields.

  9. For Allowed Request Types:

    1. In Allowed Operation, select the allowed client request operations.

    2. In Allowed Auth Type, select the types of authorization allowed and specify the SASL mechanisms that are allowed and denied in response to client requests.

  10. Click Save.
