# Using PingID mobile app authentication

You can use PingID mobile app to authenticate to access your organization account with the added security of multi-factor authentication (MFA) *(tooltip: \<div class="paragraph">
\<p>An electronic authentication method where a user is granted access only after presenting two or more verification factors for authentication.\</p>

You can also use PingID mobile app as your authenticator app when signing on to third-party accounts, apps, and sites.

To set up PingID mobile app authentication, you need to "pair" (register) it with your account or app. Pairing creates a trust between PingID mobile app and the account.
