# API discovery

API Behavioral Security (ABS) discovers the APIs when the discovery is enabled.

The automated setup sets up the discovery mode. APIs are discovered by ABS when a global application programming interface (API) *(tooltip: \<div class="paragraph">
\<p>A specification of interactions available for building software to access an application or service.\</p>
\</div>)* is defined in the PingIntelligence API Security Enforcer (ASE). The discovered APIs from ABS are added to ASE. API model training starts after the APIs are added in ASE.
