# Editing a resource link

You can edit a resource link to change the name, description, icon, URL, or visibility settings. The visibility settings determine which groups can access the link.

## Steps

1. In the PingOne admin console, go to **Applications > External Applications**.

2. In the **Applications** section, locate the application you want to edit.

3. On the application entry you want to edit, click the **More Options** (⋮) icon, and then click **Edit**.

4. On the **Profile** tab, enter or edit the following:

   * **Application Name**: A name for the application as it will appear in the application portal. The maximum name length is 256 characters.

   * **Description** (optional): A description of the application.

   * **Icon** (optional): An image that represents the application. Use a file up to 1 MB in JPG, JPEG, GIF, or PNG format.

   * **External Application ID** (optional): If you want the application to be included in contexts such as the application list for [targeted risk policies](../threat_protection_using_pingone_protect/p1_protect_risk_policies.html), enter the target resource ID that should be used for the application.

   * **URL**: The URL to which the user will be directed. It must be an HTTPS URL.

5. On the **Visibility** tab, do one of more of the following:

   * Select **Any** or **All** to determine whether the user must be a member of any defined group, or all defined groups.

   * To add a group, click the **Plus** icon (**[icon: plus, set=fa]**) for the appropriate group.

   * To remove a group, click the **Checkmark** icon ([icon: check, set=fa]) for the appropriate group.

6. Click **Save**.
