# Adding an authentication experience (early access)

Create experiences in the **Design Center** that you can then assign to applications to determine how users sign on.

You must have the Environment Admin role or a custom role with equivalent permissions to add experiences.

The sign-on pattern you select determines the available settings for the experience.

You can add the following types of sign-on experiences:

* [Identifier First](ea-p1_design_center_add_experience_ident_first.html)

* [Identity Provider First](ea-p1_design_center_add_experience_idp_first.html)
