# Editing promotion variables (early access)

If you need to change the value of a promotion variable that you have already created in PingOne, you can edit the variable from the **Promotion Variables** page.

## Before you begin

You must have created promotion variables in PingOne to edit them. Learn more in [Creating promotion variables (early access)](ea-p1_create_promotion_variable.html).

## Steps

1. Sign on to the PingOne admin console for the environment in which the variable was created.

2. Go to **Promote > Promotion Variables**, locate the applicable variable in the **Resources with Variables** list, and click it to expand the details panel.

3. Click the **Pencil** icon ([icon: pencil, set=fa]) to edit the variable.

4. Update the variable value as needed, then click **Save**.
