# Control user access

Learn how to control user access to your applications using groups.

## About this task

This tutorial walks you through the configuration of application access control using groups. When no groups are applied to an application, all users have access. Learn more in [Application access control](../applications/p1_application_access_control.html) and [Configuring application access control](../applications/p1_application_access_control.html#configure_app_access).

## Steps

1. In the PingOne admin console, go to **Applications > Applications** and browse or search for the application you want to configure.

2. Click the application entry to open the details panel for the application.

3. On the **Access** tab, click the **Pencil** icon.

4. To add a group to the access list, select its checkbox.

5. Click **Save**.

6. To test access control, try accessing the application with a user in the applied group and another who's not a member of the group.
