# Cloning a theme

To test changes to theme settings without immediately changing the theme for all of your end users, you can clone a theme and make your changes to the clone. The cloned theme will have a new theme ID.

This option is particularly useful for testing the effect of theme changes on a single PingOne DaVinci form to ensure that it's working as expected. To test the effect of newer settings on a legacy theme, clone the theme first, and then migrate the clone and make your changes. Afer you've validated that everything works as expected, you can migrate the original theme, maintaining the theme ID and ensuring that you don't have to update all of your forms to use a new ID.

To clone a theme, do the following.

## Steps

1. In the PingOne admin console, go to **User Experience > Branding and Themes** and browse or search for the theme you want to clone.

2. Click the **More options** (⋮) icon and select **Clone Theme**.

## Result

A copy of the theme is created. The theme name is `<original-theme-name>-Clone`.

The **Clone Theme** option is available for legacy and new themes.
