# Upgrading legacy themes to enable the new settings

You might have themes in your environment for which newer settings aren't available. These themes include a **Legacy** label and you can upgrade them to pick up the additional settings.

## Steps

1. In the PingOne admin console, go to **User Experience > Branding and Themes** and browse or search for the theme you want to update.

2. Click the **More options** (⋮) icon and select **Upgrade Theme**.

3. On the confirmation modal, select the **I understand and want to continue** checkbox, then click **Continue**.

The new theme settings are now available and the **Legacy** label is removed.

## Additional considerations

When upgrading a theme, consider the following:

* You can't revert the theme to the old version after it is migrated.

* Upgrading an active theme can impact the end-user experience.

* Upgraded themes retain their original theme ID.
