# Manage domains

Advanced Identity Cloud lets you configure *custom domains* that provide branded, user-friendly URLs for hosted pages, customer-facing applications, the admin console, and administrative applications. You can also configure *cookie domains* to control which applications on configured domains or subdomains can access cookies.

There are two main tasks involved in managing domains:

* **Add custom domains**: Add and manage custom domains for the Alpha, Bravo, or top-level realm. Learn more in [Configure customer-friendly domain names](custom-domains.html).

* **Configure cookie domains**: Configure a cookie scope so applications can access cookies on the domains or subdomains required by your deployment. Choose a cookie scope that matches how your applications are distributed across domains and subdomains. Learn more in [Control cookie scope for custom domains](cookie-domains.html).
