# Creating an Admin-API client

Create an API client to grant dedicated access to subscription endpoints.

## About this task

Admin-API clients allow you to grant access to subscription endpoints without creating additional administrator accounts.

## Steps

1. Go to **Dashboard > Reporting > API Clients**.

2. Click **[icon: plus, set=fa]Add API Client**.

3. In the **Client Name** field, enter a name.

4. **Optional:** In the **Short Description** field, enter a description .

5. Click **Next**.

6. **Optional:** To generate a new shared secret for this client, click **New Secret**.

7. Click **Done**.

## Result

The new client appears on the **API Clients** tab.
