# Disable directory users

## Before you begin

You need to be either a Global Administrator, Identity Repository Administrator, or have at least User Manager entitlements to disable a directory user.

## About this task

Disabling a directory user revokes the current user session and removes user access to any of the PingOne services or applications for your account. You can subsequently re-enable the user.

## Steps

1. Go to **Users > User Directory > Users**.

2. For the user to disable, click the down-arrow next to **Details** and click **Disable**.

   ### Result:

PingOne access for the selected user is disabled. You can choose to re-enable the user using this same process whenever you like.

3. Repeat these steps for any additional users to disable.
