# Managing users

You can manage users in three different ways.

You can use the following operations to manage your PingOne for Enterprise service users:

If you are using PingOne for Enterprise Directory as your identity provider (IdP), you can manage users by their listing in the PingOne for Enterprise Directory. For more information, see [Managing PingOne for Enterprise Directory users](p14e_managing_p1d_users.html).

Regardless of which IdP you are using, you can manage users by their group membership. For more information, see [Managing users by group](p14e_managing_users_by_group.html).

| | Applications and authentication policies assigned to users are managed by group membership. For PingOne for Enterprise Directory, this is done through the permissions assigned to a group. |

User access to PingOne services and their usage of each service is managed on a services basis. For more information, see [Managing service users](p14e_managing_service_users.html).
