# Update an encryption certificate

## About this task

You can update the encryption certificate used for an application connection. You'll need to be able to browse to the new certificate file to use.

## Steps

1. In the PingOne admin portal, click **Setup > Certificates**.

2. In the certificate list, filter the list to display only encryption certificates.

3. Expand the entry for the encryption certificate to update and click **Usage**.

The application connections using the encryption certificate are displayed.

1. For each application or application connection displayed, click the application and browse to select the new encryption certificate to be used for the application or application connection.

2. Click **Save**.

## Result

The new encryption certificate will now be used for the application or application connections.
