# Creating an invited SSO connection

Invited single sign-on (SSO) connects your customer to your application using an email invitation.

## About this task

Invited SSO is for your customers who already have an identity provider (IdP) set up. You send them an email invitation containing the connection information for your application. Included in your email is a link for the customer to either register a new PingOne for Enterprise Invited SSO account or sign on to their existing account. They then add the connection to your application.

## Steps

1. In the PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps admin portal, go to **Customer Connections > Adding Connections > Customer Email Invitation**.

2. Select the checkboxes of the applications you want to invite the customer to connect with.

3. In the **Customer Email** field, enter the administrator email address of the IdP to connect your application to.

The email message is specific to your application and the PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps connection established.

4. In the **Customer ID** field, enter a value for the customer's `idpid`.

The `idpid` value is a unique identifier for the IdP. You can reference the `idpid` later by going to **Customer Connections** and clicking on **Details** for that customer connection.

5. Click **Create Connection**.

   ### Result:

PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps creates the SSO connection using the email address and `idpid` you provided.

6. Send the invitation email:

   ### Choose from:

   * Click **Send E-Mail** to have PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps send the email.

   * Copy the email text and customize it in your email platform before sending it yourself. Click **Close** to return to the **Customer Connections** list.

## Result

When the customer receives the email and clicks the link in the message, they're directed to the PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps portal to either register a new SSO account or add the connection to your application to an existing account.
