# Updating a signing certificate

You can update a signing certificate for a SAML application or customer IdP connection if:

* You are managing the customer IdP configuration and connection to the application.

* The application is multiplexed.

You can update the certificate for a single application, for multiple applications, for customer IdP connections, or by generating a certificate signing request (CSR) for signing by a certificate authority (CA).
