Create test users in an invited or managed PingOne for Enterprise account.

Your PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps account comes with a built-in identity provider (IdP) populated with test users that you can use to test your applications.

You can also create test users in a PingOne for Enterprise account with a connection to your application, populated with test users that you control. The method for creating test users depends on whether you have a PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps with Managed Accounts license.

Creating test users with PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps

  1. Create an invited connection for your application.
    Note:

Send the invite email to an email address that you control. It must be unique and cannot be the email address you use to manage your PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps account.

For more information, see Creating an invited SSO connection.

  2. When you receive the invite, set up a new PingOne for Enterprise account.
  3. Choose the PingOne for Enterprise Directory.
For more information, see Select PingOne for Enterprise Directory.
  4. Add some test users.
For more information, see Add directory users.
  5. On the invited PingOne for Enterprise account Applications tab, finish configuring the application.
For more information, see Managing applications.
  6. To test single sign-on (SSO), redirect to PingOne for Enterprise using the redirect URL, as documented in step 1 of Redirect users to PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps (SP-initiated SSO).

Creating test users with PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps with Managed Accounts

  1. Create a managed PingOne for Enterprise account.
  2. In the managed account, select the PingOne for Enterprise Directory as the identity provider (IdP).
For more information, see Select PingOne for Enterprise Directory.
  3. Add some test users.
For more information, see Add directory users.
  4. Go to Applications > Private App Catalog and add the application that you're testing.
    Note:

Be sure to note the idpid value on the Summary tab of the application configuration wizard.

For more information, see Managing applications.
  5. To test single sign-on (SSO), redirect to PingOne for Enterprise using the idpid, as documented in step 3 of Redirect users to PingOne SSO for SaaS Apps (SP-initiated SSO).
