In this step, you enable redirect flows so you can use the API Explorer to simulate a centralized sign-on page that uses the Authentication API to authenticate users. This might not be appropriate for your desired deployment model. Regardless, the API Explorer is a convenient way for developers to explore the API.

As mentioned in the previous section, the Docker image you’re using in this guide has a pre-configured authentication policy, so even though you’ve enabled the Authentication API, it's never invoked unless it’s associated with the pre-existing authentication policy.

  1. Go to Authentication > Policies > Default AuthN Policy.
Screen capture of PingFederate Policies page with Default AuthN Policy specified.
  2. Select the authentication application that you created.
  3. Click Done and, when you're redirected to the next page, click Save.
