Creating a new top-level branch

The PingAuthorize Policy Editor allows you to create a new branch in two ways: using the startup window or the Branch Manager.

About this task

Branch names must be unique. No two branches in the Policy Editor can share the same name.

Steps

  1. Sign on to the Policy Editor.

  2. Choose how to create the branch per the following table.

    To create a new top-level branch from Do this

    The startup window

    Specify a Branch name and click Create new branch.

    Branch Manager

    From Branch Manager → Version Control, you can create a new root, or top-level, branch:

    1. From the menu, select Create new root branch.

    2. For the name, replace Untitled with a name for your new branch.

    3. Click Save Branch.

    You can not create more than 100 top-level branches in the Policy Editor, including system and self-governance branches.
