PingDirectory

Stop the server

If PingDataSync has been configured to use a large amount of memory, it can take several seconds for the operating system to fully release the memory. Trying to start the server too quickly after shut down can fail because the system does not yet have enough free memory. On UNIX systems, run the vmstat command and watch the values in the free column increase until all memory held by PingDataSync is released back to the system.

A configuration option can also be set that specifies the maximum shutdown time a process can take.

To stop the server, navigate to the server root directory and run the following command:

$ bin/stop-server
