New in Web Agent 2026.x

Web Agent 2026.6

Web Agent 2026.6 is a major release that introduces new features, functional enhancements, and fixes.

ARM64 support

Web Agent now supports the ARM64 architecture on Linux. You can install ARM64 versions of the Apache and NGINX Plus Web Agent on supported Linux platforms. Find more information on supported platforms in Supported operating systems and web servers Web Agent 2026.6.

The Web Agent downloads for Apache, IBM HTTP and NGINX Plus now include the architecture in the file name. Learn more in Web Agent downloads.

Apache Web Agent preflight permission checks

The Apache Web Agent now performs preflight permission checks on startup. By default, the agent checks that the Apache user has access to the required agent directories, such as the log directories. If the Apache user doesn’t have the necessary permissions, Apache fails to start and logs errors in the Apache logs.

A new AmBypassPreflightChecks Apache directive lets you bypass these checks if required.

Web Agent on Windows

The IIS and Apache Web Agent on Windows now reports improved version details, including any applied patches, to make troubleshooting easier. This information is returned when running the agentadmin.exe --v command or by viewing the .exe or .dll file properties.

IIS Web Agent

We’ve made changes to the IIS Web Agent to improve stability.

Additionally, Windows IIS modules now report the architecture that they’re running under in the system_0.log file.
