PingOne Privilege

Getting started with Human Privilege

Human Privilege secures how people in your organization reach servers, databases, Kubernetes clusters, and cloud consoles and CLIs. This topic gets you signed on and points you to the use cases for your role.

Sign on

How you sign on depends on your organization’s deployment model. Learn more in Choosing a deployment model:

  • Endpoint Controller-based: Launch the Endpoint Controller on your managed device and connect. You open the admin or user console through the Endpoint Controller. Learn more in Onboarding users.

  • No Endpoint Controller-based: Go to the console URL directly and sign on through PingOne single sign-on (SSO).

Once signed on, the console you see depends on your role:

  • Administrators work in the admin console, where you manage the directory, access policies, access requests, and activity monitoring. Learn the layout in Admin UI and Dashboard.

  • Users open the user console, where you request access to resources and manage your requests, devices, and activity. Learn the layout in User console UI.

What to do next

  • Configuration: Onboard cloud accounts, Kubernetes clusters, gateways, and access protocols, and set up multi-factor authentication and User Vault.

  • Integrations: Connect PingOne Privilege with the services your teams already use, such as Jira, Microsoft Teams, ServiceNow, and Slack.

  • Use cases for administrators: Manage the directory, control access to resources, and monitor activity.

  • Use cases for users: Request access to resources, manage your requests, manage your devices, and view your activity.
