Authenticate with PingID mobile app

Pair PingID mobile app with the account, site or app that you want to access securely with multi-factor authentication.

Pairing creates a trust relationship between your PingID mobile app and your organization, so you can the mobile app to authenticate.

Pairing the PingID mobile app

1. Download the PingID mobile app

Get PingID mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and allow all requested permissions.

2. Scan the QR code or enter the pairing key

Scan the QR code or enter the pairing key provided by your organization, site, or app.

Add a New Device window showing authentication methods that are available to add.

The new entry appears in the Authentication tab.

3. Complete pairing

Either:

Approve the authentication request in the app.

Enter the current passcode shown in the app.

Current passcode for the organization, site or app that you are pairing.

Once done, your device is paired and ready for secure authentication.

Securely authenticate with PingID mobile app

Receive an authentication request

When you try to access your organization, site, or app, you’ll receive a notification in the PingID mobile app.

Approve the request or enter the passcode

Approve the request by either:

  • Tapping Approve in the notification

  • Authenticate using your biometrics (fingerprint or face ID)

  • Enter the passcode shown in the app before it expires.
