NuData Update node

The NuData Update node submits the collected behavioral data and the final placement outcome to the NuData risk-assessment service.

Example

The following example shows how to use the NuData Update node to report the final placement outcome to NuData before the journey completes:

The NuData Score node returns the risk level for the sign-on attempt.
- A Green score outcome routes the journey directly to the NuData Update node.
- A Red score outcome routes through the NuData Trigger MFA node, and its Next outcome routes to the NuData Update node.
- A Yellow score outcome routes through the NuData Captcha node, and its Next outcome routes to the NuData Update node.
The NuData Update node submits the final placement and verification outcomes to NuData.
- A Next outcome routes to the Success node.
- An Error outcome routes to the Failure node.

Inputs

This node reads the following from the shared state:

nuDataWidgetData: the behavioral data collected by the NuData Initialize node.

Dependencies

The node requires a NuData account with API credentials.

The Client Name and Client Key properties come from that account.

Property Usage

Property	Usage
Client Name	The client name that NuData issued for your account. The node sends it with the update request to authenticate against the NuData API.
Version	The version of the NuData SDK that collected the behavioral data.
Client Key	The client key that NuData issued for your account. The node uses it to authenticate the update request against the NuData API.
Placement Name	The name that identifies the specific widget placement in your NuData account.
Placement Type	The category of journey in which the behavioral data was collected. Select one of `Login`, `Forgot Username`, `Reset Password`, or `Change Password`.
Page Placement Number	The number that identifies the page on which the widget collected behavioral data, when a journey spans multiple pages.
Placement Outcome	The outcome of the journey branch that contains the widget placement. The node reports this value to NuData as the result of the placement.
Report Segment	Indicates the source of traffic.
Placement Outcome	The Placement Outcome of the branch in the Journey.
Verification Action	The outcome of the verification step in the journey branch, such as whether the user’s credentials were valid. The node reports this value to NuData so that it can compare the verification result with its risk score.

Client Name

The client name that NuData issued for your account.

The node sends it with the update request to authenticate against the NuData API.

Version

The version of the NuData SDK that collected the behavioral data.

The node uses it to authenticate the update request against the NuData API.

Placement Name

The name that identifies the specific widget placement in your NuData account.

Placement Type

The category of journey in which the behavioral data was collected.

Select one of Login, Forgot Username, Reset Password, or Change Password.

Page Placement Number

The number that identifies the page on which the widget collected behavioral data, when a journey spans multiple pages.

Placement Outcome

The outcome of the journey branch that contains the widget placement.

The node reports this value to NuData as the result of the placement.

Report Segment

Indicates the source of traffic.

Callbacks

This node doesn’t send any callbacks.

The node has the following outcomes:

Next: The NuData update was successful and the journey proceeds.
Error: An error occurred during the NuData update process.

Errors

This node doesn’t log any error or warning messages of its own.
