PingFederate Server

Disabling automatic IdP adapter validation

When you go to the Authentication > Integration > IdP Adapters menu, PingFederate validates each adapter as it loads to ensure that changes to other resources haven’t adversely affected the adapter.

Validation time increases as the number of identity provider (IdP) adapters increases. If you experience noticeable delays in loading your adapter list, you can turn off automatic validation.

When you turn off automatic IdP adapter validation, error checking is deferred until you access the IdP adapter in the administrative console. This lets you make configuration changes without being prompted to fix all dependency errors immediately, but remember that the configuration changes can potentially cause service disruption.

When you turn off automatic validation, it also turns off IdP adapter validation when saving the following components:

Steps

  1. In the PingFederate admin console, go to System > Server > General Settings.

  2. Select Disable Automatic IdP Adapter Validation.

  3. Click Save.
