Uninstall the PingID integration for Windows Login - Passwordless using the UI

Before you begin

Before uninstalling Windows Login - Passwordless, you should unpair the device. Learn more in Adding and managing authentication methods in the PingID User Guide.

Steps

  1. In Windows, go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, right-click PingID for Windows Login - Passwordless, and select Uninstall.

    If you have the PingID desktop app installed on the same machine, make sure that you select the correct entry (PingID for Windows Login- Passwordless) to uninstall.

  2. Confirm the removal.

    Result:

    A status window displays.

    After the program is uninstalled, a confirmation message displays showing that the application was successfully uninstalled.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. To use the uninstallation program from the command line, run unins000.exe, located in the top-level of the installation directory.

  2. You can use the following options:

    • /SILENT: Don’t display the background window, but show the installation progress window.

    • /VERYSILENT: Don’t display the background window or the installation progress window.

You can uninstall PingID using the uninstallation program from the command line. However, if /SILENT or /VERYSILENT are used, the completion message is supressed, and you might not know that a system reboot is required. In some cases, the uninstallation isn’t fully completed until after a reboot.
