Setting up end-user authentication for the Self Service portal

You can define authentication requirements for end users to authenticate to the Self Service portal, also known as the PingOne Self-Service - MyAccount app, if you want to use an authentication policy that isn’t the default.

If your environment already has a PingOne authentication policy set as the default, the default policy applies to the Self Service portal, and you don’t need to set up a separate policy. Learn more in Setting the default authentication policy.

If you want to use a different policy than the default policy, add an authentication policy to the Self Service portal with the following steps.

If the authoritative identity provider (IdP) for your end users isn’t PingOne, add an authentication policy with an identifier first step and make sure to set it as the default if you want to use it for the Self Service portal.

If you have a PingOne DaVinci license for your PingOne environment, you can also use a DaVinci flow to orchestrate the end-user authentication experience.
