PingID desktop app requirements and limitations
Requirements
To use the PingID desktop app, you’ll need:

A PingOne environment that includes the following services:

PingOne SSO

PingID
-
PingOne DaVinci:

You must use the most up-to-date OOTB MFA Registration and MFA Authentication flows.

For policy evaluation, you must configure the DaVinci authentication flow to use a PingOne risk policy.

Supported platforms
PingID desktop app is available for the following platforms and versions:
Windows devices
Support and requirements vary according to the Windows machine specifications.
Windows machines with Intel(x64)

Supported on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

.NET Framework 4.7.2 or later.

Visual C++ Redistributable 2022(x64), or later.

Windows machines with ARM processors:

Device and security requirements
The following hardware requirements apply to ensure the secure storage of authentication keys:

Device architecture must support secure key storage (secure enclave).

Mac devices: Models with Apple Silicon (ARM-based) or an Intel processor with the T2 Security Chip architecture are supported.

Windows devices: Devices must include TPM 2.0.
Browser requirements

If users access protected resources through their browser, you’ll need to configure a browser policy to allow local network communication with the PingID agent. If this isn’t configured, the passwordless sign-in flow might be blocked.

(macOS only) For PingID desktop app users using Safari on macOS, you’ll need to deploy specific configuration profiles using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution.
